CATHARSIS
A downloadable game for Windows
A side-scrolling hack-and-slash RPG game developed by Nereus Indies, set in an Ancient Greece-inspired medieval world.
Merging classic beat 'em up mechanics with an ultra-violent combat system, the game requires minimal input while delivering maximum carnage, drenched in gore.
Catharsis is a short (around 1 hour) dose of mindless, brutal action at its finest. - though not so mindless, as survival demands skill, timing, and raw instinct.
While Catharsis ended up leaner than originally planned — thanks to the usual indie combo of limited time and budget — it still brings the blood-soaked action we aimed for.
Depending on how much traction it gets, we plan to add more chaos: extra modes, fresh stages, and maybe even online PvP.

We agree that character customization and online gaming would be awesome and was part of our original plan. However due to Budget constraints , currently it is not feasible, at least for the time being!

Queen , version updated. Pls let us know if you still face abnormal Physics. Issue occurs only in low frame rates. We have performed quite a few tests in low end pcs and seems to be ok now.

The Minotaur transformation in Catharsis was inspired by the Legendary ALTERED BEAST! A tribute to the golden age of arcade classics.
